Let's make it happen!

We are working on a proposal to the City of Ottawa with the goal of creating a long-term indoor park for action sports in the city.

This proposal must work for skateboarding, longboarding, surf skate, quad skating, rollerblading, BMX, scooters — basically any sport that could benefit from an indoor space like this.

→ The proposal must be submitted by October 2024 so it gets included in the City of Ottawa Budget Meetings.

We would love to hear the feedback from the community and also get help from other action sports groups.

Why is this proposal important?

• Plenty of indoor skate facilities have closed over the years (The Yard being the last one).
• Lansdowne's Aberdeen Pavillion will be closed for next season due to renovations. Some advocates are looking into new spaces right now.
• Apart from Aberdeen, The City of Ottawa has no public indoor facilities for the practice of skateboarding. We believe this also applies to rollerblading, longboarding, scooters, BMX, and most of other roller sports (let us know if we’re wrong!). We are starting the push for a long-term solution.
• We know how beneficial indoor parks are for our mental health and sense of community. The space should also be used for classes and community events.
• Based on our experience, the city won't do much unless we show what we need.
